Dr. Les Harrell is a board certified Optometric Physician, or Optometrist, who practices in Wellington, Florida. He is a rare native Floridian who has been an active member of the Wellington community for 25+ years. Dr. Harrell and his wife, Diana, have been married for over 35 years and have raised their two children in Wellington. They have given back to the community throughout the years by serving in various volunteer positions.
Dr. Harrell completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Houston where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to attend the University Of Houston School Of Optometry where he was an active member of Phi Theta Upsilon Honor Society. Dr. Harrell graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) degree and returned to Florida to open his private Optometric practice in Wellington, Florida.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Harrell has been providing expert vision care to multiple generations of patients within the Western Communities of Palm Beach County and considers each one of them as extended family. His passion for his profession and his genuine concern for his patients is evidenced by his longevity and reputation in the community.
Dr. Harrell specializes in custom contact lens fittings and in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions in adults and children. He is currently affiliated with the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and the Palm Beach County Optometric Society. In April 2019 Dr. Harrell has now partnered with Dr. Barry Frankel and Associates and Eye & Ear. He looks forward to his partnership and his patients continuing to receive great service and care.
In his free time, Dr. Harrell is an avid boater who actively enjoys wake-boarding, skiing, rollerblading and skydiving. On the creative side, playing acoustic guitar in his church band is one of his favorite past-times. Dr. Harrell also loves to spend time with his family and is having fun mastering his new role as a first-time grandfather.
